About the project:

Outer Experiences: Black Life in Rural and Suburban Minnesota is an oral history project that explores the personal histories of 21 Black, small-town and suburban narrators. Self-discovery, resilience, connection to nature, and belonging are just a few of the themes present in these illuminating stories.
